Fantastic Fundraisers Run For Jordan's Weeones 💜

Updated: Jul 31, 2019

To add to Yvonne who is completing a 22 mile virtual channel swim, we have two more fundraisers who are lacing up their shoes to raise some money for Jordan's Weeones.

Laura and Luke are both planning to complete a 100 day challenge which starts on Thursday 1st August. All the money raised from both Challenges will go to Jordan's Weeones and enable us to help support more families of children who have been diagnosed with Cancer. For more information about their challenges and how you can support them, please see below:

Laura's Story:

With a cricket theme I have decided to set myself the challenge of running 20,000 runs (1 run = 22 yards) in 100 days!

More runs than I have scored in 20 years of playing cricket!

I wanted to pick something that will be a challenge for me personally. Anyone that knows me will know how much I hate running! I can't run more than 100 meters without needing a break (and looking like a tomato) so running 20,000 runs is going to be interesting!

I am doing this in memory of my step-sister Jordan who sadly passed away in 2014 from cancer. I know she would be very proud of all the work that we are doing at Jordan's Weeones and I want to try and raise some more money to see that work continue.

I will post regular updates on my Just Giving page to let everyone know how I am getting on. Any support you can offer is really appreciated, even if it is just sharing my page to try and reach more people. Please click on the link below to go to my page. Thanks for your time, best get running!

Luke's Story:

For my 100 day challenge I will be running 250 miles to support a great charity that aims to support families of children who are dealing with cancer. The charity look to offer small grants to families to alleviate some of the stresses they may face, such as:

  • Transport costs

  • Parking fees

  • Overnight costs for families so they can stay close to their children

  • Food and Shopping during hospital stays

  • Support for siblings

  • Grievance counselling

  • Equipment and clothes

They’re small things that many people overlook, but they have a big impact on families as it allows them to focus on what really matters.

I will keep everyone updated with my progress through my Just Giving page. If you would like to follow and/or support my challenge, please click on the link below. Thanks very much for any support!

Massive thank you from everyone at Jordan's Weeones and to anyone that would like to support these challenges, we really appreciate your support. What we do would not be possible without all the support we receive. Thanks very much 💜 xxx
